Homelessness is the story of many stories. Cold and warmth. Trial and circumstance. Individuals. Individuals that possess pride, strength – and that make up our society. The Simon Community Annual Report tells two tales. It addresses both the serious challenges of their organisation and the lives of the people that use their service day to day.
This duality was explored in the format of the report, using two page sizes to create a contrast between the factual and personal. A child’s depiction of a saddened, castaway teddy on the cover captures the raw relatability of this report. Unique characters that shine with grace, dignity and life look on at us in the gritty realism of Richard Gilligan’s black and white portraits throughout.
